Eye Glasses Case
I love English Paper Piecing! That’s something I never thought I would say, but I recently discovered how much enjoy this technique. Hand-sewing something has proven to be quite relaxing and piecing together lots of cute fabrics is always a lot of fun.
I came across this technique when making another Christmas present – an eye class case (following this great and very easy to follow tutorial over at Liesl Made). As I really enjoyed the process as well as the final product, I am already forward to paper piecing a few more things… Another case is already in the works! And this time I’ll try to integrate a flex frame to keep the glasses from sliding out of their case.
Additionally to the tutorial mentioned beforehand, I used these instructions for the paper piecing as I didn’t have any freezer paper to work with and used just normal paper onto which I printed the hexagon shapes from the same site. (other shapes / patterns are available too)
Oh, and I used Amy Butler fabric for this project – more specifically from her Lotus and Belle range.
Patchwork Bags – Second Batch
I just couldn’t resist…
P.S.: I just love everything that Ayumi produces over at Pink Penguin. Be sure to check her blog out!
Small Pouch
My brother’s girlfriend did get this small pouch as a Christmas present. The tutorial I used is originally for a Make Up Bag and originates from Craftastical!. I changed the dimensions slightly. Well, I actually halved them.
Also, it was the first time ever I used piping. I think given the final size of the bag I chose a piping cord that was too thick, but I still enjoyed including this new technique into my sewing.
Oh, and the most embarrassing thing of it all: I realised when doing the piping that I had been attaching my zipper foot the wrong way around ever since I bought my sewing machine! Well, it stilled worked for all my other projects though…
Camera Cozy
My Dad’s birthday present. =)
A camera cozy for his new Sony HD camcorder! I followed a tutorial by sew-mad for most of it, with a small interjection from amy a la mode for the small memory card pocket in the back.
And luckily, it fit perfectly!
Pencil Case
Following a great tutorial by Annie Get Your Glue Gun I made another birthday present, a pencil case.
It was a last-minute thought and turned out really nice.
The instructions are very easy to follow and accompanied by a lot of pictures – just the way I like it

Quilted Coasters
A little present for a friend on his birthday =)
I love this fabric from Ikea (Josefin) and have already put aside some of it for future projects (handbag and summer top for the moment). It’s a lot lighter than the usual heavy home dec fabric from Ikea and has a really nice feeling to it.
The coasters are again made from instructions from Joelle Hoverson’s book Last Minute Patchwork & Quilted Gifts. (which I highly recommend)

A Look Back: Christmas Crafting (3)
Aren’t they just lovely? Following a tutorial by applehead I created two little felt boxes to hold a few small gifts for friends of mine. They are quick to make and the instructions are very clear. And I really, really like them. I think I’ll make a few for myself too
To hold my threads or so…

A Look Back: Christmas Crafting (1)
Now, after everyone received their present a little look back at all the crafting done for Christmas.
First of all, for a friend of mine that collects thimbles I created little felted bags to hold the thimbles I collected all over the world over the last year.
First I cut out little stars, then little squares to hold the stars in a contrasting color and then a rectangle in the star’s color for the bag. I then sewed the star to the square and the square to the rectangle. I did sew the rectangle together along the long sides and closed the top with decorative garn closed with a bow =)

Another fabric bead necklace!
I just loved the first fabric bead necklace I produced some time ago. So I had to make another one
This time I used a great fabric I did get from my aunt – a cotton / satin mix in a ‘pucci’ design. So beautiful! And because of the pattern I didn’t have to use any other fabric =)
Hope you like this one as well! And I think I might just make another one like it and give it away as a Christmas present…
Getting started:

The finished necklace:

Oh, and remember: The tutorial is from froo*gal – for all those who feel inspired =)
