I’m so excited! =)

A small messenger bag
The first bag I made without using any pattern or tutorial =)
A friend of mine had this old bag, that was slowly falling apart, but that she loved (you know those, don’t you?
). She asked me if I could make her a bag just like the one she already had, only using different fabrics that she selected herself at Ikea.
Well, I’m proud to say I did it and she is very happy with the result!

Wristlet
Depressing weather today – gray in gray and cold. Just the right reason to stay at home and start another sewing project
This time I tackled Javajem’s wristlet tutorial. I had my eye on it for quite some time and finally had the time and the reasons (weather + the interfacing I ordered to finish my latest bag project hadn’t arrived from its ebay seller in time for the weekend) to get started.
The tutorial is very detailed and illustrated with lots of pictures, so very easy to follow even for a beginner like me =)
I like the result a lot, although next time I might shorten the strap a little bit and try o find a way to tuck in the raw edges that are still visible on the inside of the wristlet (you don’t really notice it if you don’t know, but I am a perfectionist…
).

Buttercup Bag
I stumbled across the free pattern for a Buttercup Bag on the Made by Rae blog today and just had to make one for myself
I had the fabric available and was in the mood for sewing, so nothing could stop me
I like the way it turned out and the pattern was definitely easy to follow, with very clear instructions. I lengthened the strap a little bit and didn’t attach the buttons (I’m not sure if I will at a later point, or not).
Next time I might make the bag a little bigger and add a zippered pocket.
No more natural light at this time of the day, so a few dark shots of my new little bag…

Pencil Case
Following a great tutorial by Annie Get Your Glue Gun I made another birthday present, a pencil case.
It was a last-minute thought and turned out really nice.
The instructions are very easy to follow and accompanied by a lot of pictures – just the way I like it

Quilted Coasters
A little present for a friend on his birthday =)
I love this fabric from Ikea (Josefin) and have already put aside some of it for future projects (handbag and summer top for the moment). It’s a lot lighter than the usual heavy home dec fabric from Ikea and has a really nice feeling to it.
The coasters are again made from instructions from Joelle Hoverson’s book Last Minute Patchwork & Quilted Gifts. (which I highly recommend)

Organizing my stash
So much fabric, so little space… I rearranged a few of my books and made space for some more of my fabrics.

Teabag Wallet
A handy little teabag wallet. Great for taking that favourite tea of yours to work =)
I found the instructions on Christy’s Creations blog. Very nice instructions and easy to make!
I spent most of the time on the closing buttons…
The two blue fabrics are from Ikea, the light one is from a thrift store.
