Frenchy Shoulder Bag
My first Amy Butler bag! =)
It was made using the Frenchy Shoulder Bag Pattern and Ikea fabrics. Hope you like it!

Fortune Cookie Clutch
I used the sewing kit by the great U-Handbag to create this cute little clutch.
The instructions were very easy to follow, although I struggled a little bit with the glue, as it was the first time I attached fabric to a bag handle. Let’s see how my gluing holds up…
But I like the result. I hope that you do too. =)

Felt Scissors Case
A little felt case to protect my sewing scissors – to keep them sharp and ready.
A very quick and easy project. Although I didn’t bother with the embroidery on the felt case, as was suggested by the tutorial.

Tutorial by Wild Olive.

P.S.: As usual, I used the tutorial by Pleasant View Schoolhouse.

The new bag project
I recently bought Amy Butler’s Frenchy Bag pattern and already selected the fabrics I wanted to use – a combination of the Ikea fabrics I had in my stash at home. Hope you like the combination. I had the blue fabric also in white – with the same pattern but the little flowers in blue – but I wanted a hard break between the two fabrics for the bottom and the top. Let’s see how it turns out! In the meantime a little picture of the fabrics I selected and the front page of the pattern.

My first sewing kit
U-Handbag’s Fortune Cookie Clutch is the first sewing kit I purchased. I’m really excited! A first photo of the supplies for you – and hoopefully soon one of the finished purse!

I’m Back!
Finally my exams are all over and all there’s left to do for this semester is to wait for the grades.
I’ve now got 4 weeks of holidays and I am going to make the best of it – a trip to Vienna and another trip to Stockholm are planned. I’ve never been to Stockholm so I’m very excited. And in the true crafter’s spirit I’ve already googled “fabric stores Stockholm” and found quite a neat little list.
And I’ve also got a lot of sewing projects lined up. First of all, I’ll finish my first Frenchy Shoulder Bag, following a pattern by Amy Butler. Then, there’s the very cute Fortune Cookie Clutch by the great U-Handbag (love this shop – they’ve got great bag-making supplies with even better prices!). And I’ve got a few orders from friends stocking up – a few messenger bags and a custom-made bag. So, I’ll be quite busy

Taking a break
Just to let you know that I am currently taking a break from sewing and blogging to concentrate on my exam preparation. In the next few weeks I’ve got 7 end-of-semester exams at university and they keep me quite busy….

A Spanish Feast
I almost forgot to rave about the great food I enjoyed on my pre-christmas stay in Spain. Really nice and unhealthy
So, to make you long for spanish party food just as much as I do when I remember, some pictures…

Messenger Bag
Ah, finally I finished my messenger bag, following the tutorial by A Mingled Yarn. The tutorial was really great, taking me through the process step-by-step with lots of pictures. Very easy to understand even for a beginner!
I used patterned fabrics by Ikea – the black and white Gunilla fabric for the exterior and the orange Gunilla fabric for the lining.
I found it quite hard to correctly align the patterns as it was the first time for me that I had to pay attention to that. But who wants upside-down birds on the bag?
